Sunset is all about Grace, it is a central theme because it is by God's grace that we're even here. He has seen fit to assemble this body of believers to exalt His son, Jesus Christ — the One whose death and resurrection gives us peace with God and the hope of heaven. You'll find that His grace is the common thread that runs through every ministry and expression of worship here. Community is likewise significant. It suggests both genuine fellowship within our church family and an open door to those around us. As members of one body, we seek to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3 ). As a light in our community, we're a place of peace for those in chaos, a place of forgiveness for the guilty, and a place of hope for the hopeless.

Project Food Pak

Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF) is a Christian organization that works to feed hungry children in impoverished regions across America and around the world. What sets CHF apart from other relief organizations is their steadfast commitment to the local church. Rather than sending food to various areas indiscriminately, CHF works exclusively with local evangelical churches, supplying them with food to take to their communities as a platform from which to proclaim the gospel.
As churches identify needy families in their communities, members of the church visit those families with Food Paks. On subsequent visits, church members develop relationships with these families, speak the gospel, offer biblical counsel, invite these families to church, and demonstrate the love of Christ. Over the next few weeks, our church family has the opportunity to partner with CHF in this effort.
Here’s how you can help…
Before you leave church Sunday, April 14, pick up some empty Food Pak boxes from the distribution points around campus.
Take them home and fill them with non–perishable food items using the shopping list provided.
Bring the filled boxes back to church. We will have collection points at different areas around campus April 21 and 28.
CHF will then distribute these Food Paks through local gospel-centered churches, who will deliver them directly to children in need in their neighborhood. Thank you for helping us extend mercy to these families.

Ministries
Men of the Word
Mens
Men of the Word exists to glorify God by equipping and encouraging men to fulfill their God-ordained roles as leaders in the home, the church, and the world. This is accomplished by providing biblical instruction, personal discipleship, genuine fellowship, and spiritual accountability.
Men of the Word focuses on the application of God’s Word to the issues of life men regularly encounter in their spheres of responsibility. It provides a forum where men of younger faith interact with and receive wisdom from those who are more mature in Christ, and serves to prepare men for more faithful service to the local church and a more effective witness to the world.

We Teach The Holy Scriptures
We teach that the Bible is God’s written revelation to man, and thus the 66 books of the Bible given to us by the Holy Spirit constitute the plenary (inspired equally in all parts) Word of God (1 Corinthians 2:7-14; 2 Peter 1:20-21). We teach that the Word of God is an objective, propositional revelation (1 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Corinthians 2:13), verbally inspired in every word (2 Timothy 3:16), absolutely inerrant in the original documents, infallible, and God-breathed. We teach the literal, grammatical-historical interpretation of Scripture which affirms the belief that the opening chapters of Genesis present creation in six literal days (Genesis 1:31; Exodus 31:17). We teach that the Bible constitutes the only infallible rule of faith and practice (Matthew 5:18; 24:35; John 10:35; 16:12-13; 17:17; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
We teach that God spoke in His written Word by a process of dual authorship. The Holy Spirit so superintended the human authors that, through their individual personalities and different styles of writing, they composed and recorded God’s Word to man (2 Peter 1:20-21) without error in the whole or in the part (Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:16).
We teach that the Lord Jesus Christ is the One through whom God will judge all mankind (John 5:22-23):

History
History
On July 1, 1956, Sunset Community Church conducted its first public services. Founded as a nondenominational church, its emphasis was on the basics of Christianity. The fledgling church called Dr. Simon Peter one of the great preachers of his generation, to be its founding pastor.
Worship services were conducted in the two main rooms of the converted town house, where a wall had been taken down to enable Dr. Householder to see his entire congregation while preaching. In 1957, services were moved to the newly built chapel at the present location on Sunset Boulevard. Less than two years later, two services were being conducted on Sunday mornings, the first education building was built to house Sunday school classes, and Sunset Church became known as "the fastest growing church in Ocean Shores."
