They sent some of the Pharisees and of the Herodians to him, that they might catch him in words.Ps 38:12 Ps 56:5 Ps 56:6 Ps 140:5 Isa 29:21 Jer 18:18 Mt 22:15 Mt 22:16 Lk 11:54 Lk 20:20-26
When they had come, they asked him, "Teacher, we know that you are honest, and don`t defer to anyone; for you aren`t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?Mk 14:45 Ps 12:2-4 Ps 55:21 Ps 120:2 Pr 26:23-26 Jer 42:2 Jer 42:3 Jer 42:20
Shall we give, or shall we not give?" But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, "Why do you test me? Bring me a denarius, that I may see it."Mt 22:18 Lk 20:23 Jn 2:24 Jn 2:25 Jn 21:17 Heb 4:13 Rev 2:23
They brought it. He said to them, "Whose is this image and inscription?" They said to him, "Caesar`s."Mt 22:19-22 Lk 20:24-26 2Ti 2:19 Rev 3:12
Jesus answered them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar`s, and to God the things that are God`s." They marveled greatly at him.Pr 24:21 Mt 17:25-27 Ro 13:7 1Pe 2:17
There came to him Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection. They asked him, saying,Mt 22:23-33 Lk 20:27-40
"Teacher, Moses wrote to us, `If a man`s brother dies, and leaves a wife behind him, and leaves no child, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up children to his brother.`Gn 38:8 Dt 25:5-10 Ru 4:5
There were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and dying left no children.Mt 22:25-28 Lk 20:29-33
The second took her, and died, leaving no children behind him. The third likewise;
and the seven took her and left no children. Last of all the woman also died.
In the resurrection, when they rise, whose wife will she be of them? For the seven had her as a wife."
Jesus answered them, "Isn`t this because you are mistaken, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God?Isa 8:20 Jer 8:7-9 Hos 6:6 Hos 8:12 Mt 22:29 Jn 5:39 Jn 20:9 Ac 17:11 Ro 15:4 2Ti 3:15-17
For when they will rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.Mt 22:30 Lk 20:35 Lk 20:36 1Co 15:42-54 Heb 12:22 Heb 12:23 1Jn 3:2
But about the dead, that they are raised; haven`t you read in the book of Moses, at the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying, `I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?`Mk 12:10 Mt 22:31 Mt 22:32
He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are therefore badly mistaken."Ro 4:17 Ro 14:9 Heb 11:13-16
One of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together. Knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, "What commandment is the greatest of all?"Mt 22:34-40
Jesus answered, "The greatest is, `Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one:Mk 12:32 Mk 12:33 Dt 6:4 Dt 10:12 Dt 30:6 Pr 23:26 Mt 10:37 Lk 10:27 1Ti 1:5
you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.` This is the primary commandment.
The second is like this, `You shall love your neighbor as yourself.` There is no other commandment greater than these."Lv 19:13 Mt 7:12 Mt 19:18 Mt 19:19 Mt 22:39 Lk 10:27 Lk 10:36 Lk 10:37 Ro 13:8 Ro 13:9 1Co 13:4-8 Ga 5:14 Jm 2:8-13 1Jn 3:17-19 1Jn 4:7 1Jn 4:8 1Jn 4:21

and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."1Sa 15:22 Ps 50:8-15 Ps 50:23-15 Pr 21:3 Isa 1:11-17 Isa 58:5-7 Jer 7:21-23 Hos 6:6 Am 5:21-24 Mic 6:6-8 Mt 9:13 Mt 12:7 1Co 13:1-3
When Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." No one dared ask him any question after that.Mt 12:20 Ro 3:20 Ro 7:9 Ga 2:19
Jesus responded, as he taught in the temple, "How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?Mk 11:27 Lk 19:47 Lk 20:1 Lk 21:37 Jn 18:20
For David himself said in the Holy Spirit, `The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, Until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.`2Sa 23:2 Ne 9:30 Mt 22:43-45 Ac 1:16 Ac 28:25 2Ti 3:16 Heb 3:7 Heb 3:8 Heb 4:7 1Pe 1:11 2Pe 1:21
Therefore David himself calls him Lord, so how can he be his son?" The common people heard him gladly.Mt 1:23 Ro 1:3 Ro 1:4 Ro 9:5 1Ti 3:16 Rev 22:16
In his teaching he said to them, "Beware of the scribes, who desire to walk in long robes, and to get greetings in the marketplaces,Mk 4:2

Jesus sat down opposite the treasury, and saw how the multitude cast money into the treasury. Many who were rich cast in much.Mt 27:6 Lk 21:2-4 Jn 8:20
There came a poor widow, and she cast in two lepta, which make a quadrans.
He called his disciples to himself, and said to them, "Most assuredly I tell you, this poor widow gave more than all those who are giving into the treasury,Ex 35:21-29 Mt 10:42 Ac 11:29 2Co 8:2 2Co 8:12 2Co 9:6-8
